OAB
We have users in our GAL that was setup as Mail Enabled Users. Now we are converting these users to Mail Box users. Unfortuantley, the OAB is causing me a headache, it seems that the OAB is not downloading the updates automatically. I've read that this is 10 minutes after Outlook starts or 24 hrs afterprevioussynchronization. This isn't a cause of the OAB not being updated from the server, because from the client you can select download address book and pull the changes that we're made that night. I'm wondering. Is there away to disable OAB even though I'm running cache mode? Or, is there a way to force Outlook to synch at startup. Thanks!!

Hi Jay, You can increase the frequency of the client OAB download by using following method: 1. On the Tools menu, point to Send/Receive, point to Send/Receive Settings, and then click Define Send/Receive Groups. 2. Click New. 3. Type a name for the custom group. 4. Click your Exchange account, and then click to select the Include the selected account in this group check box. 5. Under Select the options you want for the selected account group, make sure that the only check box that is selected is Download offline address book, and then click OK. 6. In the Send/Receive Groups dialog box, click your new group. 7. Under Setting for group Group_name, click to select only the Schedule an automatic send/receive every check box, and then enter the number of minutes. 8. Under When Outlook is offline, click to clear the check boxes. 9. Click Close. For more detailed information regarding OAB, I suggest you read the following article: Administering the offline address book in Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/841273 Mike
