OAB 2007 / OAB 2010 generation servers
We are currently running Exchange 2007 and getting ready to migrate user mailboxes to 2010. The CAS/HUB/UM are already complete. The 2007 OAB lives on 2007 with a 2007 generation server. Any issue with creating a new OAB in 2010 and having a 2010 server be a generation server as well? Then just point the 2010 OAB to 2010 databases?d

Hi thefeed12, This is absolutely a valid approach. Dont forget to enable public folder distribution of OAB if you have Outlook 2003 running in your environment. Regards. No issue in doing that, you may want to create several to reduce WAN traffic if exch is deployed globally so users download OAB locally.Sukh

hi, >>>Any issue with creating a new OAB in 2010 and having a 2010 server be a generation server as well? Then just point the 2010 OAB to 2010 databases? I recommend that you only use the exchange 2010 to generate the oab file. You can create a new oab without problem, and then ebable web based distribution and add all your cas servers include your exchange 2007 cas into the distribution server list. Then set the new oab object to your 2010 databse. After you do that, please remember to restart these service Microsoft Exchange File Distribution Microsoft Exchange System Attendant hope can help you thanks CastinLu TechNet Community Support
