OAB URL not found in Test E-mail Autoconfiguration
Hello, we are having issues implementing the Offline Address Book. I had everything working fine prior to preparing to remove my Exchange 2003 server.
This started happening after i changed from one address book to another. I have a UC certificate with all the correct FQDN, NetBios, and DNS names. This issue is affecting both internal and external users (OLAW).
From the client side if you do a Test E-mail autoconfiguration there is no "OAB URL" under the "OOF URL", where there used to be one.
I am able to access https://outlook.mydomain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml & https://outlook.mydomain.com/oab/<GUID>/oab.xml from the inside as well as the outside and I get the XML text.
Here are some results from the EMC

Anyone have suggestions?

Running Get-AutodiscoverVirtualDirectory |fl Name,InternalURL,ExternalURL
Bring the following results. Is it true that this is correct because it reads the SCP?
Name : Autodiscover (Default Web Site)InternalUrl :ExternalUrl :
Still not sure where to go to fix the OAB.

Have you not defined internal and external URL's yet then? That'd be step 1.

Running Get-OabVirtualDirectory | fl Name,InternalURL,ExternalURL
Results in this
Name : OAB (Default Web Site)InternalUrl : https://<casserver>.corp.mydomain.com/oabExternalUrl : https://outlook.mydomain.com/OAB
From what i understand for the Autodiscover the internal and external are generally blank b/c they are read from the SCP's. Is that wrong?

I'm not sure on best practice here, but I manually assigned mine (as you've got them) because of a myriad of certificate issues.
Also, if you shift+rightclick the outlook icon in the task tray it'll give you an option to test autoconfig settings which can be very revealing for URL/SCP issues.

And i can successfully "Test E-mail Autoconfiguration" from both internal and external clients via Outlook 2007. They go to different urls though.

Yeah ctrl+rightclick is how i'm testing this. and there is no OAB URL underneath where OOF URL is. which is where is should be .
for example out of my xml file i get
<ASUrl>https://outlook.mydomain.com/EWS/Exchange.asmx</ASUrl> <OOFUrl>https://outlook.mydomain.com/EWS/Exchange.asmx</OOFUrl> <UMUrl>https://CASServer.corp.mydomain.com/UnifiedMessaging/Service.asmx</UMUrl>
Between OOFUrl and UMUrl is the expected OABUrl which has dissappeared since changing offline address books.

Yes i can browse to https://outlook.mydomain.com/OAB/<GUID>/OAB.xml
Just fine. I do have to input username and password though.

When I'm stumped, I'm stumped. Sorry.
The only thing I might do in your situation is re-create the OAB

Yeah i really appreciate your help bud. I have tried to recreate once already with the same end result . I'll keep cracking at it.
Anyone else have some pointers or ideas? I'm starting to run low.

One thing i just did notice when browsing to either the autodiscover or OAB pages i'm having to put in domain/username. Is that normal, should i set it to automatically assume they are with my default domain?

Wish i had some idea what to do, i've recreated the oab the oabvirtualdirectory the autodiscovervirtualdirectory. Everything is working outside of the OAB. I'm just not sure how to publish the oab to the autodiscover service other than. set-oabvirtualdirectory. and after doing that it still isn't showing up.

is this issue user specific ?
i guess you should look at the user attributes related to exchange oab, and see if that is correct,

Just to add on to Dhruvraj,
If its user specific you should check the attribute "showinaddressbook" in adsiedit.msc..>Domain Partition
If its not than, is this happening to all the clinets, 2003,2007 and 2010?Gulab | Skype: gulab.mallah

Hello,
You can try the "UI" bug fix, as i call it..
Open EMC, Organization configuration, Mailbox, Offline Address Book.
Then edit your OAB, remove the web publishing checkbox. hit apply.
mark the box again. hit apply.
Recycle the Autodiscover IIS application pool on your CAS servers, then recheck the Test-EmailAutoconfiguration output again..
might actually work :) did the trick more then once ..
Good Luck,
ilantz
