OK - How do you access Public Folders?

So I have my RTM environment build, and I have my public folder mailbox setup and folders created.

I've granted my test user access via EAC. However when I go in via OWA or Outlook 2013, I do not see them anywhere.

Is there some magic to getting access to these? I tried also going to open another mailbox but I was under the assumption they would show up just like they did in previous versions? At least it did from some of the screenshots I've seen.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've tried creating a clean profile on both Outlook 2010 & Outlook 2013 but no public folder tree appears.

Also I went to look at the permissions and everything looks OK, with my Test User having Owner rights on the public folder tree (Data is the root folder):

[PS] C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\scripts>Get-PublicFolderClientPermission | fl

cmdlet Get-PublicFolderClientPermission at command pipeline position 1
Supply values for the following parameters:

I think I'm getting close.

Since this was in my lab environment and I had a split DNS domain going, it wasn't until I was debugging an issue with EWS on the Lync 2013 side and integration of UCS that it tipped me off I was missing a few DNS records.

After I fixed the External EWS URL and added the mail server ExternalURL in DNS name plus the autodiscover ExternalURL, I briefly saw the Public Folders appear in Outlook but then it disappeared, and I'm still not seeing it in OWA. Time for a little more digging but I think I'm on the right track, though it not appearing in OWA is throwing me for a loop.

I've had the same problem with Outlook 2010. I've solved it by setting the password authenthication to "NTLM" (folder "security"), connection to HTTP (folder "connection") and proxy settings to the exchange server address ("https://<servername>") in the profile.

After that, i'm able to see the public folders in Outlook. OWA seems not to display them at all.

Did you try right clicking on the Favorites in OWA 2013? It will give you and option to add public folder.

I have a similar problem and I think you would be able to help solve it.
On the exchange server 2013 Create public folder. If the user is logged into the computer under a domain account in the outlook folder visible. But if you connect to exchange outlook from a local computer account, public folders are not visible.
You could solve this problem?????

Hi,

I am having the same problem right now. I have exchange 2013 RTM With 2007 in co existence. But all mailbox and public folder were already moved to 2013 server. Created new Public Folders in Exchange 2013 etc. Outlook client can see public folders but from OWA, they cannot. Did you find a way to solve it ?  Thanks
