OLEConverter folder and winmail.dat
HelloWe are using Exchange 2007 SP1. We have seperate roles for Hub Transport, Mailbox and CAS.I notice that there is a folder on the Hubs and Mailbox servers named OleConverter (under \\Exchange Server\Working).Apart from this article here:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb232174(EXCHG.80).aspxThere doesn't seem to be much explanation as to what this folder does, what OLEconversion is, and how winmail.dat fits into this.Could someone expand?

“Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) is a technology developed by Microsoft that allows embedding and linking to documents and other objects” ----------Refer to <Object Linking and Embedding> The folder is for OLE conversions, which is used to convert the inbound messages from internet (MIME), so the messages are then received correctly, as I know For winmail.dat: If users send the RTF messages, it would contain two versions of message (Plain text, and RTF). Plain text version of message is displayed in OWA, blackberry (Also Outlook Express); however, for outlook, it will use the version in the winmail.dat attachment if there’s an one in the message Description of Transport Neutral Encapsulation Format (TNEF) in Outlook 2000 Winmail.dat Attached to All Internet Messages Regardless of Setting on ClientJames Luo TechNet Subscriber Support (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/ms788697.aspx) If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com
