The simple question is how do I clear out items from the deleted items folder that won't clear out -- I get the error "some items could not be deleted, they were either moved or already deleted, or access was denied". At this point my deleted items folder is completely empty except for a deleted contacts folder with 4 contacts in them.

The details are as follows:

1. Outlook 2007 & Exchange server 2010

2. A handful of contacts in a public contacts folder were (for whatever reason) flagged for followup.

3. The contacts folder was then copied into my outlook mailbox for export purposes

4. The folder was deleted, and the folder went to the deleted items folder

5. When I went to empty the deleted items folder, it would not remove the contacts.

6. When I highlight one of these contacts directly and press the DELETE key on the keyboard, absolutely nothing happens.

7. When I right click on one of these contacts and try to clear followup flag is comes back with "The operation failed".

HELP! These corrupted contacts are showing up in my to do task bar (because they are flagged) and I can't clear them off!
