OWA 03-07 coexistence problem
Hello to all.
My environment consists of:
1. CAS server (Ex. 2007)
2. Mailbox server on Ex. 2003
3. Mailbox server on Ex. 2007
I'm going to OWA as /OWA on CAS. Works perfect if my mailbox is on Ex. 2007 mailbox.
I'm going to OWA as /Exchange on CAS. Works perfect if my mailbox is on Ex. 2003.
I'm going to OWA as /Exchange on CAS. Do not want to redirect me to/OWA if my mailbox is on Ex. 2007.
Any points to check? Dealing with this issue already 3rd day...

Hi,
As we all known, in Exchange 2007 Client Access Server, in IIS, there are /Exchange, /Exchweb and /Public virtual directories in that place for the purpose of backward compatibility if Exchange 2003 was installed in the environment. In Exchange 2007, the new virtual directory the Client Access server role installs is /owa. In the environment of Exchange 2007 and 2003 coexistence, when the client OWA access the CAS, two directions are divided. One is for Exchange 2007 mailbox and goes through IIS (SSL) by typing /owaOWA Auth ISAPI OWA Web Access 2007 RenderingClient Access Server business logic(RPC) Exchange 2007 mailbox server.
The other is for Exchange 2003 mailbox and pass IIS (SSL) by typing /Exchange, /public or /exchwebOWA Auth ISAPIOutlook Web Access 2003 Proxy(HTTP) Exchange 2003 mailbox.
Thus, if Exchange 2007 mailbox server exists, then you input /exchange instead of /owa, it will be treated as an owa request and redirected to /owa. That is be design.
I have to say your need on this issue could not be achieved. For more information, please view the article about Outlook Web Access and Exchange 2007, 2003 and 2000 coexistence

Dear Allen,
thanks for reply.
I've read the mentioned article and it helps me a lot. I have exactly the same setup as in Example #3.
What is stated there:
My mailbox is on Ex. 2007 mailbox srvr.
So,
Qoute:
----
requests to /exchange on the CAS or Mailbox server will redirect the user to /owa. Authentication credentials transparently passed through.
----
That is exactly what I need to achive, but it do not works:-(
I asked my colleagues and they have it worked! Should work and in my environment. But I stuck somewhere, probably missing some small part...
Any help will be appreciated.

Hi, all.
The error message I get: "The user name or password that you entered is not valid. Try entering it again."
I've try to supply username as DOMAIN\User and User@company.com - no luck.
If I log on the same user with same password to /OWA - it works.
It looks like Integrated Auth is missing somewhere and Basic used... but WHERE?

Hi,
I suggest we verify the same authentication method was configured on Exchange Virtual Directory and OWA Virtual Directory.
Thanks
