OWA New Message Notifiacation
The ding when a new message appears in OWA is not working on a user's account and is working on others (mine for sure). The volume and all of that fun stuff is working fine of all of the clients. How do i get the ding back? Is there a setting that the user can modify in the OWA account? Thanks!

Hi,Which OWA version do you use? OWA 2003 or OWA 2007?Do you mean the user log on to his client computer, and the ding is not working, but if the user log on to other computers, the ding is working? If other users log on to the problematical computer, is the ding working? You can modify in Message Options:"Play a sound when new items arrive"Frank Wang

Just the user's account. the computer is working fine for other users and the account will not work on any computer. its owa 07, and the box was checked...thats where i am left speechless...so it must be something on the server end...but where to start? The user makes a point that she doesnt know when there is new incoming mail then without looking so it shuld be fixed. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi,Do other users use their user accout to long to their OWA on the problematical computer, no matter what this is on the problematical user's profile or their own profile? Both OK?the account will not work on any computerDo you mean the user use her user account to log to other computer, and log to to OWA, is it still not OK? I need to confirm this is not the problematical user's profile's problem.Does the user log to owa using Premium or lite mode? Please run the cmdlet:Get-CASMailbox -Identity "domain\user" | fl OWARemindersAndNotificationsEnabledMore information:

I have noticed the same behavior with Exchange 2007 SP1 and OWA Premium with IE8. I verified OWARemindersAndNotificationsEnabled was not configured to be false. I set it to true.... but BEWARE....I had to correct other settings after making the change...see this article:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123962(EXCHG.80).aspxUsers have stated IE7 works but IE8 will not provide sound notification for new messages.I was able to fix it with this Dan Trautman help:http://www.vistaheads.com/forums/microsoft-public-internetexplorer-general/438792-outlook-web-access-notification-sound-when-new-mail-arrives-ie8.html
