OWA Question
Does the OWA service go onto a web server, or on the exchange server itself? if it goes onto the web server, is it an easy install onto the web server?

Hi Scott,OWA is one of the service of Exchange 2007 CAS role so you need to install Exchange 2007 Client Access Server role to configure OWA.Client Access Server Role: Overview http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125134.aspxIf you are thinking about high availibility and load balancing of OWA service by adding an extra server then you need to use NLB or a third-party hardware-based network load-balancing device for Client Access server.Reference:Load Balancing Exchange 2007 Client Access Servers using Windows Network Load-Balancing Technology Part 1: Overview of Windows NLB Clustershttp://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2007/high-availability-recovery/load-balancing-exchange-2007-client-access-servers-windows-network-technology-part1.htmlAmit Tank || MVP - Exchange || MCITP - Exchange 2007 || http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

I know what OWA is. I am asking if the OWA site has to go on the exchage 2003 server or can it go on the seperate web server that we have?

Hi,No, it's not. OWA is a part of Exchange Server 2000/2003/2007, and as such cannot be installed on a separate web server - even if it's running IIS, nor is it something as simple as copying a few files over and registering DLLs.Thus, the OWA site has to go on the Exchange 2003 server. Thank you for your understanding.ThanksAllen
