OWA and links to iPhone not working
At one point months ago the OWA link to iPhones went down at my company and I need to fix it.Went down sometime around when our ISP (Cablevision) experienced connection issues.Users with other phones (specifically Nokia and a software called SEVEN) have been able to connect in.Anyone have similar issues and if needed I will start a support call with an engineer to get this resolved.Chris in NJ

What are you using to connect the iPhone to Exchange? ActiveSync? What would happen if you just deleted the e-mail configuration on the iPhone and tried to reconnect?Jim McBee - Blog - http://mostlyexchange.blogspot.com

Users just do a standard connection on iPhone(email, username, password) iPhone I believe does not even ask for server. And error is something like cannot connect with server. We have removed and added multiple times.Crazy thing is at one time it worked great, and synced folder structure in Outlook, not just Inbox.

THAT is weird. Does it sync the Contacts folder? Can you connect to your OWA URL via Safari browser on the iPhone?Jim McBee - Blog - http://mostlyexchange.blogspot.com

Hi,What version of Exchange is it? Knowing version of Exchagne may also help us to narrow down this issue. For Exchange 2003 you can use OMAAdmin and remove the paired devices from the indvidual mailboxes. Try it on a single affected user initially. For Exchange 2007 you can use EMS and remove them See http://msexchangegeek.com/2008/12/18/managing-mobile-devices-connecting-your-exchange-server-2007/for help.Try removing the pairings and then reconfigure the iPhones to use EAS. Let us know how it goes.Milind Naphade | MCTS:M | http://www.msexchangegeek.com

Hello, I'm not clear about your problem, could you help me clarify the following questions? You mean your OWA can't work or your iphone can't receive mail from Exchange? Can you open OWA webpage via browser in your iphone? When you setup the account on your iphone, do you chose add "Microsoft Exchange" account or some others? I wanna confirm if youre using ActiveSync. Do you have the same issue on a Windows Mobile powered device? All iphone can't work or just this one? Thanks, Elvis

Elvis, on your questions:You mean your OWA can't work or your iphone can't receive mail from Exchange? iPhone cannot receive email from OWA/Exchange linkCan you open OWA webpage via browser in your iphone? Have not tried yet (1 user has an iPhone now and sent him request)When you setup the account on your iphone, do you chose add "Microsoft Exchange" account or some others? I wanna confirm if youre using ActiveSync. Using ActiveSync since I am sure we have always selected "Microsoft Exchange" on the wizard that ships with iPhoneDo you have the same issue on a Windows Mobile powered device? Yes, have had problems with those devices as well but at this time no users have a plan with one (to test). All iphone can't work or just this one? Have only had 1 work, small office.I intend to spend more time on this issue today. Thanks Milind on that clarification of the adminstration program (MobileAdmin and not OMAAdmin) I did find a program called OWAAdmin) on Microsoft's website and was getting IIS installed on my desktop to implement, will search for MobileAdmin app.

Milind, I setup MobileAdmin and from a browser was able to see the individual user and his iPhone setup was still there.Showed that the last time he synced was 11/18/2008I removed his device by clearing it from the link provided and asked him to try re-establishing connection again. His iPhone was listed a APPL7R7324V5..... (other 3 letters omitted)I also have a PocketPC and a IMEI device (nokia with Seven software).

Did that help getting phone synced to Exchange and is he able to see emails correctly on the device now? If it was a wired synchronization that worked then does it work over the air? As alreday suggested above data connection on device should also be checked as one of the linear troubleshooting steps. Do let us know how it goes.Milind Naphade | MCTS:M | http://www.msexchangegeek.com

Used https://testexchangeconnectivity.com Used: Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync Connectivity TestsSecond test Exchange ActiveSync (this test will simulate the stepsa mobile device uses to connect to an Exchange server using Exchange ActiveSync) Error was at the very end of the sync process:Attempting FolderSync command on ActiveSync sessionFolder Sync command test failedError in sync took me to this this technet article:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd439375.aspx Believe the problem is:Integrated Windows Authentication may not be enabled on the back-end server's "/Exchange" virtual directory. First technet article references this technet article that has the resolutionhttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/817379 Resolution:Method 1Install and configure an Exchange Server 2003 computer as a front-end server. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 818476 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/818476/ ) You can configure either Exchange Server 2003 Standard Edition or Exchange Server 2003 Enterprise Edition as a front-end server Back to the topMethod 2 Important Method 2 should be used only in an environment that has no Exchange Server 2003 front-end server. The registry changes should be made only on the server on which the mailboxes are located.Create a secondary virtual directory for Exchange that does not require SSL, and then add a registry value to point to the new virtual directory. ELVIS, I NEED TO CONTACT OTHERS IN ORGANIZATION TO AUTHORIZE THESE CHANGES... thanks again
