Right now, when I hit https://mail.mydomain.com/owa and I try to log into 2007 mailbox, it just kind of times out and nothing happens. No redirects, no nothing. What should I do? I can log into a 2010 mailbox with no problem. I believe the ports should be open. What should I have open? The firewall is pointing to the new server now for my HTTPS and SMTP. I can actually hit the correct 2010 OWA log-in screen when I go to https://mail.domain.com/owa . I can even log into a mailbox that is on the 2010 server. The only issue is that logging into a 2007 mailbox does not log me in. It times out. Here's an interesting tidbit: I have it pointing back to my old mail server right now. Now, https://mail.mydomain.com/OWA points to my 2007 OWA. But when I access my 2010 Exchange server internally at https://servername/owa , I obviously get the 2010 OWA screen. However, if I log in using a credential associated with a 2007 mailbox, it will redirect me correctly to the 2007 OWA. If I log into a 2010 mailbox, it will automatically forward me to 2010 OWA. It doesn't work when I point my router to the new server. If https://mail.mydomain.com/OWA points to the 2010 server, that behavior won't occur. It will just hit some sort of infinite loop.

You need to point mail.domain.com/owa to your Exchange 2010 environment. Then you need to create a legacy namespace for your Exchange 2007 owa such as legacy.domain.com and configure your Exchange 2007 externalurl parameter with this value. When an Exchange 2007 logs into Exchange 2010 OWA, it will redirect the 2007 user to legacy.domain.com which is the Exchange 2007 OWA.
