OWA not working
I am not sure if this is an IIS issue or an Exchange issue. I cannot log into OWA anymore.I am running Exchange Server 2007 on Windows Server 2008 Standard. IIS 7.0 is running. Last night, I applied the update rollback 6.0 for Exchange Server SP1, released just a few days ago. Upon initial restart, all of the Exchange services were disabled. I reenabled all the services. Then I noticed the update did not really install, so I installed it this morning. I then restarted the server, and all seems to be working fine, but I am getting an error when trying to log into OWA. I get the certificate errror, when I click continue, I get a blank screen with an error message down in the lower left corner of the IE window.when I check out the error, it is:Line: 7Char: 1Error: SYntax errorCode: 0URL: https://<private IP address>/owa/auth/logon.aspx? url=https://<private IP address>/owa/&reason=0I get the same response when I browse the virtual directory from IIS Manager. All services are started, and I am not sure where to look further. Any assistance is appreciated.thanks.Ok, so update on this....it only happens in IE. I used Google Chrome browser, and was able to log in. The login page did not look correct, it was kind of a text version of the GUI. Same with Mozilla Firefox. So, this seems to be more of an IIS issue then Exchange since the OWA lite is working through those other browsers. Any ideas would still be appreciated.thanksScotty

Dear Scotty1212,
From your post, I understand that you install update rollback 6.0 for Exchange Server SP1 on Exchange server 2007, and then you are unable to log into Outlook Web Access (OWA).
I want to confirm the following information with you:
1. What is the exact wording of the error message and HTTP error code you receive? Send the screenshot of the error to me.
2. If a call stack is provided when clicking Show Details, what is the exception failure?
3. Does OWA fail when you log on over the Internet or when you use a client on the LAN?
4. Are you able to log on to OWA from the console of the CAS server itself?
5. Is the issue affecting all users, some, or only one?
6. Does the issue happen from multiple workstations using the same user account?
7. Does the issue affect Exchange 2003 and/or Exchange 2007 users?
8. Do you have any Exchange 2003 backend servers?
9. How many Exchange 2007 servers are there and what server roles are installed on each?
10. How many Active Directory sites are there?
11. Which site has the Internet facing CAS server?
12. Which site has the mailbox server where affected users are homed?
13. Is there a firewall? If yes, what kind?
14. Is the CAS server in a perimeter network?
15. What is the Internet Explorers version?
16. Collect EXBPA tool and send the log file to me according to the following steps:
a) Open EXBPA from EMC;
b) Connect to Active Directory;
c) Input the name of DC; make sure you are using Exchange Administrator account and Domain User account
d) Click "Connect to the Active Directory Server"
e) Select entire Organization as the Scan Scope, type "Health Check"
f) Click "Start Scanning"
g) When the scan finishes, Click "View a report" in the left pane and click the report in the right pane
h) Click "Export report", select the type as XML (will save entire data file).
i) Compress the XML and send it to v-rocwan@microsoft.com.
17. Try to remove OWA virtual directory and receate it, and check the effect.
For more information about how to recreate OWA virtual directory, please refer to the following article:

Dear Scotty,
How about recreate OWA virtual directory?
From you EXBPA report, I found the following information:
l Exchange server cannot be contacted Server: POWER
Exchange server POWER is down or unreachable. This could be the result of a network or permissions problem. Error: The network path was not found
Please double check whether your Exchange server is working according the following article:
This Exchange server is down or unreachable
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998683.aspx
l Certificate principal mismatch
The principal for SSL certificate 'https://powerstation.local' does not appear to match the host address. Host address: powerstation.local. Principal: C=US, S=CA, L=El Dorado Hills, O=Power Station LLC, OU=Information Technology, CN=mail.teampowerport.com.
Please refer to the following article to fix the issue:
Certificate Principal Mismatch
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998424.aspx
After fix the above issues, rerun EXBPA and send the result to me.
If anything is unclear, feel free to let me know.

Thank you for your reply Rock.1. Power is the Exchange server, and there is nothing in the article to explain how the exchange server is not finding itself. I dont know any reason why 127.0.0.1 would not be pingable other then TCP/IP network stack errors.2. This is the Cert that an Exchange expert at Microsoft Technical Support setup for me. I would expect for MS technical support to setup things as best practice as possible. I will look into that issue. The only new issue of the above 2 is the exchange server not finding itself. This very much seems to be an additional cause, or effect of the over all issue. I am working at recreating the OWA directory today, and will move forward from there.Scotty
