Office 2007 Opening & Closing Files

When I open either 2007 Word or Excel it takes 30 to 35 seconds to open or close these files.  I've been using this program for several years and only recently noticed such an amount of time to open new or existing files.  I've run the diagnostic program and every thing appears to be okay.  What can be done to improve the speed of opening and closing files?  The programs work fine otherwise.

Hi

Rename the global template to check the issue:

1.Quit all instances of Word, including WordMail.

2.Type the global template name (normal.dotm) in the search pane.

3.Right-click the file appears in search results and then click Rename. Give the file a new name, such as OldNormal.dot or Normal-1.dot or delete that file, office will create a new file automatically.

4.Restart your PC and start Word.

If Office still takes long to open a file, do a repair for Office program in Control panel>Programs and features>Office 2007>Change>Repair.
