Office 2010 to 2013 (Excel crashes)

Hi,

I have several clients who use the same Excel document. It crashes regularly for them and the Telemetry Logs aren't providing much information as to what may be the cause. The event IDs (16, 12, etc.) do not come up when I search for them. There are no explanations in the log and the one time there was, "The application crashed, possibly because of the file". That was it. These particular files have a lot of analytical data and some of the workbooks are about 300 MB. However, the issue still occurs even with smaller files. Is there a Microsoft tool I can use to actually scan the file for any issues in it? Below is from the event logs.

Faulting application name: EXCEL.EXE, version: 15.0.4737.1000, time stamp: 0x55801aff

Hi,

Based on your title, did you get this issue after upgrade from Office 2010 to Office 2013? Did you get any error messages when Excel crashed?

I didn't get much information from the event log. If you got this issue after upgrading from Office 2010 to 2013, I suggest you try to repair you Office.

>>"The application crashed, possibly because of the file".<< if this issue only appeared in particular files you need to repair these Excel files.

You can also use  Configuration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT) which is developed by Microsoft Support teams. Once the tool is installed, you can run it at any time to scan for hundreds of known issues in Office programs.

Please note this tool is only worked for Excel application but not Excel files.

Any updates please let me know, I'm glad to help and follow up your reply.
