Office 2013

I can only download my bank statements a s a  .csv comma delimited file. 

When i open the file in excel it displays all the data in one column ONLY as text

I use windows 8

previously id downloaded all date in different column=text as text and numbers as amounts 

when you convert text to columns it displays all data in different columns but also amounts a s text so it is impossible to do calculations

Any help will be appreciated

Hi,

Have you tried importing it instead of opening it? Goto the Data tab and choose import from text file. It will show you a wziard and gives you the option to set the various formats on the columns while you are importing.

Hi Maurice..I have tried but no avail!  It is ok when I use win97 but now I have Win 8 and it surely does not do it!
