Features - Modify user settings - Microsoft Office 2013 - Places Bar Location

it is supposed t add custom Save / Open locations (it worked for office 2012 but with the interface in 2013 cant get it to work), below is the registry settings it makes

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\open find]

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\open find\adminaddedplaces]

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\open find\adminaddedplaces\place0]
"path"="G:\\"
"name"="G Drive"

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\open find\adminaddedplaces\place1]
"path"="I:\\"
"name"="I Drive"

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\open find\adminaddedplaces\place2]
"path"="%USERPROFILE%\\Documents"
"name"="My Documents"

Well, try use the "Policies" registry path instead:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\office\15.0\common\open find\adminaddedplaces\place0]
"name"="TestPlaceBarLocation"
"path"="D:\\Test\\Test"

Ok noticed something finially.

When you click File Open or Save As you get following screen:

If you click the Browse button than you can see the custom locations as circled in red:

is there any way to get the locations to show on the first image or to do away with the first image and it go straight to second image when you click Open or Save As?

What you want to research is customizing the "Backstage View". That is the fancy MS name for the new "File" menu in the ribbon.  I haven't seen a specific example of what you want, here is some general information that may help:
