Okay.
Most of this problems is that the spammers use your email alias to send spam, but they do that on their own devices. You cannot stop that because they use your mailaddress as sender address. Most of time it stops after a few days...
Otherwise you can go into your Exchange environment to see in the logs if the user is spamming trough exchange.
You can scan the users computer with tools as malwarebytes.org etc.

Please check your emails servers are not on open relay .If it is open relay please try to fix it.

If I change the password to the mail account, can that fix the issue?
It looks like someone is using your alias.
If you reset all the passwords and there is no open relay you got nothing to worry about.

Is your environment is an hybrid environment ? If so where you have pointed your mx records for your domain ?
