Office Configuration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT)
We're an Office 365 subscriber and I've been using the OffCAT tool to check for Office 2010 hotfixes. Now with the advent of Office 2013 and "click-to-run", I'm wondering do I still need to use OffCAT to check for available hotfixes? Or will
those always be included in the latest releases as they're made available on the "Content Delivery Network&quo

Hi,
unless you modify the O365 configuration.xml, each machine where O365 is deployed, will periodically (via scheduled task) check the CDN for an updated package of O365, and will pull it down and apply it.
I haven't tested OffCAT for the purpose, but I doubt OffCAT will work.
O365 and CTR don't use MicrosoftUpdate either...

I'm using a modified configuration.xml to point to a local file share for installation. I ran the OffCAT tool, and it does detect the CTR installation of Office 2013, but it did not list any available hotfixes in the Updates section. It did detect available
hotfixes on the MSI copy of Office 2013 that I downloaded from the TechNet subscriptions site, which is what got me wondering whether using OffCAT to check for updates is applicable to a CTR installation.
