I have Windows 8 but do not use the Windows "email" version, instead I use the "office OUtlook" version which has stopped receiving/sending emails. I can still access/see my emails coming in on phone and "windows version" of mail but find outlook version more user friendly. I have contacted my internet provider and also Norton anti virus and both say it is not their systems, can someone please assist me.thanks - Lynda
Perhaps the pst is corrupted due to any reason and you are facing the issue. Go to http://pstrepairtool.blogspot.com for help.
Hi,
What is the symptom that you can't send/receive emails in Outlook? Have you got any error message?
Please make sure the account settings are correct as suggested by the service provider. Although it can be the corrupted data file, I suggest you use the Scanpst.exe Provided by Microsoft first prior to any 3rd-party tools:

You can try scanpst.exe utility for repairing non-working Outlook file. To aware with ScanPST.exe, check reference:

Hello,
As the error is reported while sending and receiving the mails, it generally occurs because of the incorrect settings in SMTP & POP protocols.
So check your server settings accordingly the account you have configured on your Microsoft Outlook.
The setting changes can be found in any of the Microsoft KB article or below is the link to cross check the settings.
https://products.secureserver.net/email/email_outlook.htm
And if still it does not work, you can run scanpst.exe known as an Inbox Repair tool, which is successful in repairing Outlook mailbox. In case this tool also fails to solve your issue, then you can go for any third party utility as they have been successful in correcting many outlook error so many times. To the best of my knowledge you can go for (MS Outlook Tools) Outlook Recovery tool in order to repair & recover your PST file.
