Old print server question
hello, I have a few very old print servers. They connect to our Okidata microline 320 printers. The print server is made by Emulex and model number NQPO.These print servers only have MAC addresses. They dont have a web interface to configure, nor do they even support plug-n-play so the 2003 server cannot locate it on the network. So, in Server 2003, how do I add this print server onto the network and give it an IP address?Do i use the arp command?

If the vendor of the print server can't provide you a way to assign it an IP address or provide you software for W2K3, there is really nothing you can do short of buying new print servers.

I have added the ip address and mac address of the print server into the ARP table of the W2K3 server which handles our printing tasks.Once i shared the port and printer, I was able to print to that printer through the network.Thanks.
