OneNote 2013 crash on screen clip

I am running Office 2013 (32 bit) on Windows 7 SP1 x64.

When I try to use the Windows-S screen clipping, it works OK (i.e. it allows me to capture an image to the clipboard) but OneNote then throws an error that it needs to restart (which it is ultimately unable to do).  Strangely, the screen clipping functionality still works.

Any ideas as to what might be causing this behavior?

PS FWIW, I do have the Skype for Business client installed.  I mention this because this caused me no end of headaches with Outlook 2010 which is what prompted me to upgrade to 2013.

Hi,

When we finish clipping, it will prompt the "Select Location in OneNote" dialog. Does this issue happen before the dialog prompting or after that? Does it happen when selecting the location?

We may try deleting notebook cache and restoring OneNote settings to see the result. To do this, exit OneNote, press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type onenote /safeboot and press Enter. OneNote will start and present you with a couple of troubleshooting options. Try the "Delete Notebook Cache" button first and then try "Delete Settings" if deleting cache doesn't fix the issue.

Note: When clicking "Delete Notebook Cache" button, it will close all your opened notebooks. You'll have to reopen the notebooks again. If you have shared notebooks, please make sure you have all your changes synced.

Please let me know the result.

Thanks,

Steve Fan
