OneNote issues with syncing

Having consistent issues with OneNote and syncing. At first, it wasn't syncing for just one user. And when I made the changes and eliminated the problem page, the type of error changed.

Here is the code that I'm seeing now when I click in the upper left corner: "We're sorry, something went wrong during sync. We'll try again later. (Error code: 0xE402004C)"

Now I've learned that another person also isn't seeing updates from other people. This isn't the first time that this has happened.

I got a notification that said OneNote needed to repair a tab. So now I have a pre-repair tab and the one that everybody is using. Ive started using the tab that everybody else has again but Im reluctant to delete the pre-repair tab because Im worried that it will cause problems.

What should be the next steps in troubleshooting?  I'm not sure where to start, other than deleting these notebooks and making new ones from scratch.

Hi,

How do you share and sync your OneNote notebooks? Via OneDrive or SharePoint?

What do a tab and a "pre-repair" tab mean? Do you mean the OneNote sections tab?

Meanwhile, we can follow the steps below to troubleshoot OneNote sync issues:

1. Reopen a notebook to sync OneNote

2. Find and fix bad notebook sections to sync OneNote

3. Sync OneNote by keeping it up-to-date

4. Our Support team maintains a list of tips that may help you to avoid sync errors in the future. See: OneNote syncing best practices.

OneDrive.  Correct, I meant section tabs.  Or if you were specificially asking what a pre-repair tab was, this article talks about them a bit  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/825779

I'll go through the links you provided, thanks.
