One Exchange Server for 2 Domains
Dear All,
I have a querry, recently need arised to have a functional exchange server receives and send emails for Two domians.
I am new to this thing, logically i can see it may can work that One Exchange Server can host 2 domains emails for same users (Users are the same in the main domain)
Scenario:
1) Two Domains abc.com xyz.com
2) Domain & Exchange fully functional for abc.com and users as well...
3) Need : add an additional domain on the same exchange which has the same users but they can send & receive emails from xyz.com on the same user & domain and outlook they can do that...
i am not sure how to do that practically... if any one canguide me stepby step....help somewhere...
look forward to hearing from you very soon.
manny thanks
Kind regards,
om

The first part is very easy - receiving
If you're using Exchange 2003, this is done by using recipient policies.

If you're using Exchange 2007 this is done by using email address policies
http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2007/management-administration/managing-email-address-policies.html
You can also go on a case by case basis, edit the user properties, adding an additional smtp address to each user.
The problem is with the second part - sending. While you can add multiple smtp addresses to each user, a user can only have one "primary" or "reply" address. to send as a second smtp address, you would need to setup outlook with another smtp account, and relay through exchange smtp. That can get pretty confusing, but let us know if you need more detail.
