when I open an excel online document on one drive it wont let me open it in standard excel to make changes? It used to be okay until this week?

Based on your description, could you tell me whats the meaning of it wont let me open it in standard excel to make changes? Did it open online via OneDrive but you cant edit it? Or you couldnt open it in local computer with excel program? And did you get any error messages?
