Only allow messages from specific domain
Currently, I have a client for whom our company provides IT consulting service. I have set up a distribution list on their Exchange server for alerts during their maintenance periods. This distribution list has an address of maint@client.com. I can configure it to only allow e-mail from our support address (support@consultant.com). However, I'd like for all of our techs to be able to send e-mail to this address (e.g. tech1@consultant.com, tech2@consultant.com, etc.). Is there a way to allow only a messages from a specific domain to be received by mailbox?

You could, however, manage this with a transport rule that looked for word/patterns in the "From:" header when a message is sent to a particular mailbox/distribution group. That would wrk for both anonymous and authenticated SMT sessions. If the messages are sent from within the same organization (using Outlook with an RPC connection) then you can use the properties of the mailbox/group to restrict access and deny anonymous users. --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP
