Optimum Page File Settings?
We installed E2007 on a 'all-in-one' box and that was a mistake so we got an Edge server and instead of having to reboot every 24 hours we can go 4-5 days.
In researching this, I have seen some references to making the page file the total ram and adding 10MB in size.
Does MS have any documentation for this (besides the white paper on memory requirments mention) as I am also seeing blurbs to create paging files for multiple drives according the MS support from people writing on other forums.

I already mentioned that one in my post. Does anyone have any technet articles on setting the memory size for Exchange 2007? I have seen posts in other forums were people mention MS techs giving more specific information such as a paging file for each drive.

Hi,
I think total ram plus 10 MB is the best choice. See the articles below:

Hi Lautermilch,I got the same issues you have but found a solution for it. You need to tweak exchange database max cache size. read this article from Microsoft. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/266768 (follow this article but look under Exchange Administrative Group in ADSIEdit) Recommendations:1) set cache to be less than 2-4gb for the OS (e.g the box has 16gb of RAM - I reserve the max size to 12gb - and everything works great and I don't have to reboot the system at all). It's really bad if you follow Microsoft paging rule especially for exchange 2007. Set page file to be smaller e.g 2-4gb max. 2) if exchange db is too large, split them into 2 group (e.g a-m & n-z ) Hope this help, john
