Oulook Hangs On Open Waiting to Update Folders
Everytime I open OL on a machine it hangs about 3 out of 5 times. Down in the bottom half of the screen it reads waiting to update folders. It never does update the folders though and I have to restart outlook. I deleted the mail profile and created a
new one, I also deleted the ost and created a new one. We have even gone so far as to reimage the machine. I enabled loggin on the machine to see if it was perhaps not communicating with our server properly. After I enabled logging the first time I opened
outlook it hung. So I went to look for the log in C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Temp\outlook logging. Nothing was there. in fact I couldn't find OPMLog.log in any where. I was confused so I shut down outlook restarted and this time it did not
hang, low and behold there was OPMLog.log now on my machine in the location stated above. So I don't know what to think. I'm wondering if perhaps the MAPI agent is not starting properly. Here is the log file I received after it worked. please help we are haveing
this issue in many places in company.

The log file doesn’t tell much information about the issue
Is there any related event in the application log on the MBX server, or client machine?
Have you seen
KB 2000071? Please try to use the steps in the KB for troubleshooting
You said that the issue happens in many places, do you mean that many users have this issue on their outlook?
Whether clients connect via internal network or external network (Outlook anywhere)?
Please move a problematic mailbox into another mailbox database, see if the issue still appears
Please move all items of the problematic mailbox into a PST file, and see if the issue still appears

I am not sure how OPMLOG.LOG and this issue are inter related. What version of Outlook are you using including the Service Pack. What you see now might be a temporary fix. Have you ever checked the Outlook in Online Mode. Was it still the same.
What about when you configure the profile for another user. Is it profile depended specific to a user or Machine depended with just that Machine or Outlook Client.Ashwin Raj

I forgot to remove Update Root Certificates, from the windows components. Once I did that the program no longer had any issue loading. Thier was some conflict with the startup of Outlook and it trying to update to the internet.
