Out of Office Notifications from a Distribution List
Hi all. Here is a problem I've been struggling with for some time now, and I hope you guys can help me figure this out.We do business on behalf of several partners. It is very important to us to be able to send email as user@company1.com, user@company2.com, user@company3.com, etc. Unfortunately, exchange will only let you send as your default SMTP address. So we found a workaround. What we do is, for each user, we have set up a mail box with the default SMTP address of user@ourcompany.com. We then set up a Distribution List for each partner email address (user@company1.com, etc.) make the user@company.com the only member, and grant Send As permissions to the distribtution list for the user.I wouldn't say it works great, but it's a workable solution. When ever they send a message as a partner address, they simply enter the address they are sending from in the "From" field. Now the problem I have is that some one has the nerve to take a vacation. He wants to set an out of office reply for each of his partner email address and have them be from the associated distribution list.Example:Test User has a mailbox tuser@company.com.There are three distribution lists tuser@company1.com, tuser@company2.com, tuser@company3.com.Test User has Send As Permissions on the three above Distribution Lists and from Outlook can send an email from any of those Distribution lists.Test User sets his OON in outlook, but it only replies for tuser@company.com from tuser@company.com.How can Test User set up an OON for the Distrbution List from the Distribution List?I have tried:In the Out Of Office Assitant; Create a rule to reply from template. This doesn't work. Whenever I try to save a template with the "From" field specified, I recieve errors. In Rules and Alerts; Setup a rule to AutoReplyThe template does not save the From address.I have considered replying from a public folder, but setting up 300-400 public folders and auto reply rules is cumbersome and is not something a user can set by themselves when they go out of office. Please Help!
