Outllok 2013 mailbox history

I understand in outlook 2013 as an administrator, when I grant myself access to a users mailbox, I see the maibox appear in my outlook. I am told this is a feature of outlook 2013... That's just dandy, but in don't want to see all the mailboxes I work on in the past to show up in my mailbox. is there a way to remove these remnants?....

thanks

Remove the Full Access permission you granted yourself to the mailbox when you're done.

Hi Rob,

I did remove full permissions, and is still appears in outlook..  I attempted to remove it from outlook, and it tells me to remove via account settings\Advanced Tab\mailboxes... (there are no mailboxes to remove)

My experience is it takes some time (AD replication?) in order for the mailbox to drop off of my Outlook client, after I've removed full access permissions from the mailbox I was in.  Are the mailboxes you've accessed staying there forever, or for a long amount of time?

they have been there since I first installed 2013 along time ago.. ( I thought Microsoft would have a fix by now...).. it definitely isn't a feature to me..

Can you still access the contents of those mailboxes, or do you get the error "Cannot display the folder. Microsoft Outlook cannot access the specified folder location. The operation failed. An object cannot be found."?  I just did some research and found that if I removed access to a mailbox I was granted full access to (via EAC), it would still show up in Outlook. If I added access to the mailbox through Outlook (File, Account Settings, Change, Advanced tab) I'd then see the mailbox twice. I closed Outlook, reopened it and the mailbox was only there once. I then went back into the Outlook properties and removed access to the mailbox there. It took a few minutes, but eventually if I clicked on the mailbox, I'd get the "Cannot display the folder" error and then the mailbox would drop off of the folder listing in Outlook. Sorry if that's confusing.

once I remove me from full permissions, correct I am unable to access the mailbox. and I am unable to remove it either.. even if I have full permission I am unable to remove or "close" the mailbox... I keep getting the message to remove via advanced settings.. which no mailboxes show up there to remove.. Im stuck with about 20 mailboxes .. frustrating.

What if you add it and remove it like I mentioned above? Or, what if you create a new mail profile in Outlook; do those mailboxes still show?

When you removed the Full Access permissions, did you also remove the automapping permission?

Hey Rob,

when I attempt to run  the following command I get errors can you decipher?....

The term 'Add-MailboxPermission' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program.
Check the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try again.
At line:1 char:22
+ Add-MailboxPermission <<<<  -Identity anandavs -User davisr1 -AccessRights FullAccess -InheritanceType All -Automappi
ng $false
    + CategoryInfo          : ObjectNotFound: (Add-MailboxPermission:String) [], CommandNotFoundException
    + FullyQualifiedErrorId : CommandNotFoundException

How do I add the "add-mailboxPermission"?

thanks

Did you run it in the Exchange PowerShell or the regular one?
