Dear All,
I was redirected here from http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook_com/forum/opeople-oother/outlookcom-calendar-and-contacts-sync-with-iphone/3726d270-f779-4181-99d3-e9ab305343ce
I switched my main mail account from Gmail from Outlook.com after Gmail discontinued its exchange support. I really love Microsoft EAS system - I use it in my workplace, all my calendar, contacs and mails automatically get synced to my iPhone 4S. For example, if I add an appointment in my work Outlook calendar, it will automatically get updated in my phone in the background, when its locked. I would like the same system to work with my outlook.com account, but so far I was not able to do so.
Emails automatically get downloaded, and I get a notification about new mail, but my calendar appointments and contacts only get updated when I open the application itself. I tried searching for this problem, but I couldn't find any answers. Is syncing calendar and contacts in the background with outlook.com even possible? It was possible with gmail through exchange in the past.
I tried to get it working with my iPhone 4S (ios 6.1.2) and iPad 3 (wifi only) (ios 8.3) but none of them worked.
Things I have tried:
- Deleting all the accounts and re-adding
- Deleting my work EAS and running only the personal
- Turning sync on and off
- Restarting device
- Adding my outlook.com account as exchange profile instead of hotmail
- Using outlook app on my iPad (it is not compatible with my iPhone version) - it is not syncing either
Any help provided would be very much appreciated!
