Outlook 2003/2007 Errors
After moving mailboxes to new databases, a few users (about 5out of 1,500 or sothat were moved) are receiving errors when opening calendar items in Outlook 2003 and 2007. These items are in the Inbox and the users cannot open them. The errors are: "Can't open this item. The end data you entered occurs before the start date.", "Can't open this item. Outlook does not recognize this Schedule+ recurrence pattern.", "Can't open this item. Could not complete the operation. One or more parameter values are not valid."Thisparticular cluster is running Exchange 2007 SP1, RU9 with about 5,000 mailboxes. These errors only seem to occur with items received on 11/30 and the mailboxes were moveda few days prior to that, 11/27 or 11/28. I also moved one of the users to a different database and the issue persists. I receive the same errors when opening in MFCMapi but I am able to open the messages via OWA. I understand that these messages are corrupt, but is there anything that can done to correct this issue? Thanks in advance.

As you correctly said , the messages are corrupt now. I doubt if there is a way to fix the corrupt message. You might try your luck with Mdbvu32.exe. (not sure if this is there with exchange 2007). Have you updated the exchange with Sp2?Though you can eliminate the corrupt messages with a mail box move.Raj

I have not upgraded to SP2 yet. I may also try MDBVU32. Thanks for your response.

Hi,
Recently after move out some users from the store and we performed DB reset then create new users in the box and faced the same issues. Do you mean that after reboot all HT and CAS servers issue is able to resolve?

Has anyone solved this yet?
The issue started a couple of weeks back and as far as I know nothing has changed on the Exchange server - only taken over this job two weeks ago and I definitely haven't changed anything!
Here, too, users can open the messages in OWA.

Hi,
I am experiencing this issue as well with Exchange 2007 SP2 RU5. The issue occurs after moving mailboxes to a new database. This happens with Outlook 2003, Outlook 2007 and OWA. The error message we are getting in Outlook is "Can't open this
item. Outlook does not recognize this Schedule+ recurrence pattern." Did anyone get a resolution to this issue?
I am going to log a call with Microsoft PSS about this but wanted to check if anyone here had a resolution.
Thanks

Spoke to Microsoft this morning and they have highlighted that this is a known issue.
The issue is fixed with Exchange 2007 SP3 RU1. See the following KB article for details:
