Outlook 2003
If you are try to decline a meetingand choose tosend a response, after making that selection a message screen displays allowing you to write in a response, but instead of writing something you close it using the right hand x. Then everything goes away, nothing is sent to the invitees inbox, nothing on invitees calendar, the sender doesnt receive any response email and the senders Outlook meeting entry shows none as the response for the invitees. Wondering if anyone has found this to be a problem?

Up to the point of closing the message by clicking the x, you have not send the message. If you don't hit send, nothing will be sent. You would have to go find the original invite in your deleted items folder, which would state "This meeting is not in the Calendar; it may have been moved or deleted." Then you could choose to decline without editing. Or.. Just send it without typing anything, so instead of clicking the X, click send. The user would get the declined meeting with the white box at the bottom.

JohnGann, thanks what happens if you do click the x the appointment disappears, nothing is sent, no information about therequest is left in theappointments. If I could I would remove the x from that screen, but Iknow someonewould complain about that too.
