Outlook 2007 Email Signature Settings Getting Lost

I have a strange case where a user is complaining about the setting for email signature being lost every day upon his login. Each time he must go into settings and choose the signature from the list for both, new mails and replies. The setting will be kept for the whole day, but next morning he starts his computer and Outlook this setting is gone.

I know that Outlook looks for signatures in the following path: C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Microsoft\Roaming\Signatures and these files are in place, but the setting in Outlook is missing after each logon.

Hope somebody have an idea :)

Thank you

Eduard

Hi,

Please follow the steps below to modify the registry for Outlook signatures to see the result:

2. Delete the First-Run value under the following key in the Windows registry:

3. Create or locate the following key in the registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Common\MailSettings

or

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Common\MailSettings

4. Create the following value(s) under the MailSettings registry key:

Name: NewSignature
Type: REG_EXPAND_SZ
Value: The name of signature to use for new messages (see step 3 above for signature names)

Name: ReplySignature
Type: REG_EXPAND_SZ
Value: The name of signature to use for reply messages (see step 3 above for signature names)

5. Start Outlook and open a new e-mail message.

Hello Steve, thank you for your answer. When creating /setting value for the keys, what do I enter as the name of signature? File name without extension or something else?

Apologize for the incomplete information provided. We should just enter the file name without extension.

Please have a try and let me know the result.
