Outlook 2007 GAL issues
Hi,I'm new to these forums so please let me know if you need any more info!I've several offsite users who cannot select the address list for our site but they can all select the FULL global address list for all the sites in our company and then search for the address's they need.It throws up an error saying you must connect to Outlook but we already are as we can send and receive mail okay. They can see their own Contacts List okay, and once they try to select the list again for our site only, it crashes Outlook. All users are on Outlook 2007 and connected to Exchange 2007, which is administred offsite. This only happens when users are outside our network but connected via the internet. As the full Global Address List works fine does this mean the address book hasn't downloaded correctly?Any help would be grately appreciated.

Damo, whats the version of exchange and OL you are using? Are the users in cached mode? Try to configure one Outlook with out cache mode and see if that makes a difference. Also check the settings on the OAB on the server?Raj

Hi,I turned off cached mode for one and while connected to our network it was fine, as usual. As soon as I took it off the network it opened Outlook in offline mode and gave me the Offline Address Book without any distribution lists underneath.I turned on Cached mode again and once connected outside the network I got the Full address book with lists but could only select the top level GAL or personal contacts. None of the distribution lists were available again but every address was available in the top level GAL, I assume that last part is usual though?Cheers for any help

Hi,Whether the domain-connected user who configured Outlook Anywhere has this issue after turning off cached mode? How did you confirm the Offline Address Book? Please run get-offlineaddressbook |fl in EMS, then post the information on the forum. Whether any error message come up in the event log?ThanksAllen

Hi Allen,Sorry I'm not too sure what you mean with the first question.I pyhsically turned off wireless and checked Outlook again through the address book icon, this was showing as Offline AB, there was no way the laptop was connected to anything so I knew it was the offline AB.I don't have access to the EMS as Exchange is administred off-site, I'll have to wait to speak to the guys/girls next week.Nothing in the event log at all.Sorry, I'm pretty new to Exchange features please be patient. Thanks
