Outlook 2007 local calendar troubled Exchange Server 2007
Hello all!I have been using Outlook 2007 "standalone" (without Exchange) with my Contacts and Calendar locally, and not being shared anyway. Recently I have installed Exchange 2007 in my company, and I'm now migrating from PST files to OST files, well, filing all mailboxes to the server. The thing is that in some cases the following is happening to me:1.- User with Outlook 20072.- SMTP addresses and POP mailbox, not via Exchange addins directly from the ISP3.- Default Inbox/Calendars/Everything in the users machine4.- The user has a mailbox in Exchange as well5.- When offline mode in Outlook, Calendar appointments and tasks have no problems6.- When online (connected to Exchange, but not using Exchange user's calendar) any changes to the calendar says problemssaving/retrieving Free/Busyinformation7.- Read and applied as in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/958443/en-usand still getting the problem. My guess is that something (I have no idea) is interfering between Exchange Calendar (which works fine in the user's client) and the Calendar information the user has in his default mailbox, which is a PST not under Exchange. Default emails bo to Inbox (not Exchange), default contacts under user's PST file (not Exchange) and default meetings under PST file.Software: Exchange 2007 SP1, Outlook 2007 SP2 and Windows XP SP3Thanks in advance.Miguel A.

Since user had used PST's all info such as Inbox/Calendars/ are being left in PST's One of the work around would be to use Outlooks Export and Import Wizard. See below http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287070 Remove the mail delivery option from all Outlook clients from PST to Mailbox so that all information will be stored in Mailbox

Thanks Vinod for such a quick answer. The thing is I want the user use PSTs and store their appointments and meetings in PSTs, not in Exchange, so have a Calendar in PST, not Exchange Mailbox. I don't know why Calendar is having problems with free/busy information in this scenario.

It is by design. Since all mails are being delivered to PST the meeting and calendar info would be stored in PST's See the below Thread to understand better http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrclients/thread/ba4280d8-d0c3-4c10-b828-5a49822813d9

Thanks again. I see the post is very recent too. Anyway, would you be so kind as to explain why this happens? I mean, I see there is not an actual error, rather some "misunderstanding" between server and client, as working offline doesn't show the alert.

working offline will show you only the contents of OST and PST
