Outlook 2007 recover deleted items does not work.
Hello,
I have a user that had approximately 1500 items deleted from his Inbox dating from today back to four weeks ago or more. The system became unresponsive during a remote session today when a tech was trying to help when trying to recover. I have since used remote desktop / webmail to see if I could restore deleted items. There was nothing in the recover deleted items. How do I recover these items? Thansk,

Hi,
In addition to Rich, you can also use MFCMapi tool to recover the deleted items.
1. Create an Outlook Online Mode Profile
2. Launch the MFCMapi tool to logon the profile
3. Open your mailbox, expand "Root Container" and "Top of Information Store"
4. Right click the Inbox/Deleted Items folder and click Open Deleted Contents folder
5. Please check whether you are able to locate the message which you would like to recover.
Note: If the message is hard deleted from Inbox folder, the message should be locate in the Deleted Contents folder of Inbox folder.
If we still not able to locate the message you would like to recover, I am afraid that the messages have been deleted from the Exchange database and you need to use the previous backup file to restore the messages.

Hi,
When you use recover deleted items option in Outlook, it actually recover the messages from the Deleted Contents folder which I mentioned in previous post. In addition, in order to use Outlook to recover message which hard deleted from Inbox folder, you must add the dumpster is always on key.
