Outlook 2007 won't connect to exchange 2007 server
I have an exchange 2007 environment that is in working status.I can connect via outlook from many different workstations.I can connect via OWA from any computer on the network even the DCMy problem arrises when I try to set up an outlook 2007 profile on the DCWhen outlook starts it asks if I want to set up email (I say yes). The autoaccount set up finds my name and email address. Then when it tries connecting to the exchange server using the username and password I log into the server with and the one that works in OWA and from other workstations in the domain it does not authenticate me.And won't let me connect.Any Help would be appreciated.Timps.Exchange server on w2k3 server on VMware exsi 4DC on w2k3 server on VMware exsi 4

Hi Tim,Trying to understand why you are trying to configure OL on a Domain Controller. Now when it is doing the auto discovery and getting your user ID from the AD, so I am sure initially it is getting the update from AD. See if the windows firewall isswitched on the domain controller. Also check if the AV or the some other application is doing this.Raj

You might also test autodiscover settings byholding down the CTRL key, right clicking the Outlook icon in the notification area (system tray), and then select Test E-mail AutoConfiguration. See what errors you get, if any. I suspect it may be an issue with URL's or misconfigured Autodiscover. Shaun

Hi Tim, First, we don't recommend you install/use Outlook in a DC. Installing other applications in the DC will affect the performance/function of DC and it will be a hurdle for disaster recovery. Keep a clean DC is very important. For your issue, if you insist to use Outlook in the DC, please manually configure the profile. After checking name, please ignore user name/password typing and go to the more settings configuration, in the security tab, change the authentication method to NTLM authentication. Then test the issue again. Thanks, Elvis
