Hi,
Thanks for posting this question!
I am unable to reproduce this on my end, so let me ask you a few questions. :-)
From Outlook 2010: Click in the Instant Search pane and enter some text.
- You'll see "Search Tools" appear on the Ribbon. Click the dropdown arrow next to Search Tools.
- Click "Locations to search"
Do you see the Archive mailbox in the list of search locations?
If you do, then try this:
Enter text in the Instant Search pane that should return items in the archive mailbox. Select All Outlook Items and let the search complete.
- Click the View tab on the toolbar.
- Click the dropdown arrow to the right of the Arrangement group.
- Select "Show in Groups", if it's not checked. And "Outlook Data File". -->By default, Outlook 2010 Shows in Groups by Folder.
- Scroll through the search results and see if you find the Archive mailbox group listed.
If there are any results to the search in the Archive's "Outlook Data File" (aka store), you should find it listed in the results pane.
If you don't find the Archive mailbox listed in Locations to Search, please call in and open an Outlook support incident on this issue. That will give us a chance to delve in a lot deeper on this issue to find the cause for the archive mailbox not being
able to be searched.
Hope that helps!
Thanks and take care,
Jahawk MSFT
