Outlook 2010 Send On Behalf Of

Hello,

We're using Exchange 2010 SP1 and Outlook 2010. Is it possible to give a user Send On Behalf Of rights? NOT Send AS rights because we want to see who send the mail on behalf of.

Thnx Remco

Start Outlook 2010.  Select the "File" tab.  Click on account settings button then delegate access.   This can also be done via the Exchange management shell.  I think the command is: Set-Mailbox UserMailbox -GrantSendOnBehalfTo UserWhoSends

U can modify the Distribution Group Active Directory Object , add "publicDelegates" attribute, value is the full Domain name of the user.

Also - be aware.

The exchange 2010 uses cache. changes are  time delayed.

If you wanna speed it up you can restart the information store service - that will restart the cache

We assume Amir means that the AD Object method specified in 2011 is the better way.

Also, Amir's point about the cache delay is well-taken.  It's a good idea to notify users (esp. managers) that, if they want immediate results, they may suffer momentary email disruption, which can noticeably affect Outlook performance.
