User A - got full mailbox permission and calendar owner access to User B

User B - shared HIS calendar  to user A. and sent a sharing invitation on Calendar.

At first User A was able to Open this Calendar

Second and next, when user A clicks Open this Calendar - it is showing The operation Failed.  (i had duplicated this to the other users and same behavior.

Outlook 2010 had up to date patches.

Does this issue happen with all users or a certain one?

Can you open the shared calendar from OWA?

If we try opening the shared calendar via Home tab > Open Calendar > Open Shared Calendar, will the shared calendar open correctly?

In addition, please double-check if the permission is granted correctly. We can try removing the permission and then reassigning the permission again, and then test the issue again.

Please let me know the result.

It happens to all.  Simulated the issue with another user and it fails.  

The workaround is click the Calendar first then afterwards go back to the email that contains the sharing of the calendar and click open this calendar.  and it works.

Strange behavior.
