Outlook 2010 connections dropping from Exchange 2013 server
I am nearing the end of a migration from Exchange 2007 to 2013. I have started to see times when Outlook clients have momentarily dropped the connection to Exchange. At times it is all users and at other times it is a certain group. The outages are always only a few minutes but that is forever for most people. Nothing stands out in the event logs. What is the best way to troubleshoot this issue. There are so many logs in 2013 I'm not sure where to start. I have created a new throttling policy to increase rpc client access connections and assigned this policy to a specific office location to see if will resolve the issue there. If it does then I will apply to all users. Any assistance is appreciated.

many things to consider and ask yourself

it is only happening to Outlook clients , if so then do they have all similar outlook clients? are they wired or on wi-fi connection?

does it also happen to their email on mobile device or just outlook?

it could be a network issue, make sure packets are not dropping and you need to ask your network guy to run some test.

Hi,

In addition to the above suggestions, I recommend you recycle the following Application Pools and check the result.

Exchange 2013 CAS Server: MSExchangeAutodiscoverAppPool, MSExchangeRpcProxyFrontEndAppPool

Exchange 2013 Mailbox Server: MSExchangeAutodiscoverAppPool, MSExchangeRpcProxyAppPool

Hope this can be helpful to you.

Best regards,
