Outlook 2010 does not check grammar before sending

Hello,

I am trying to setup Outlook to check grammar before sending an email.

I have checked the boxes:

1) Always check spelling before sending

2) Check grammar with spelling

This does not seem to work. If I type a single line email "Where are you." with a period instead of a question mark, it sends the email instantly without checking. If I run the check manually, it finds the error.

Is this simply not possible?

Thanks.

Does seem as if it doesn't work on sending. I've just tried it on my copy of 2010 and I see the exact same thing as you describe. Also seems like every site or question online relates to enabling or disabling both spelling and grammar checking rather than just grammar, so that doesn't help.

Best option I've found is to enable "Mark grammar errors as you type", at which point it will give you the green underline below "you." in your example. It still doesn't flag the grammatical error when sending though, but does flag any spelling mistakes you have in the message.

Ok good. At least I know I'm not crazy.

I guess I will chalk this up to a bug, or a misinterpretation of the wording of the checkboxes. And ultimately, I guess this cannot be done.
