Client - WinXP SP3

         - Outlook 2010

When setting up account, outlook finds eMail user name correctly and when I say next, it prompts me for a logon to mail.mydomain.com. I enter the correct credentials for the computer account and it does not take. Setup does not complete. When I cancel, the message says must be connection to Exchange is unavailable.

Please confirm if you are using a SAN certificate or a wildcard certificate in your Exchange 2013:

Get-ExchangeCertificate | FL

Get-OutlookProvider | FL

For Windows XP machine, it only uses the common name which is listed in the first location in your certificate with IIS service. It will not look at the next names in the SAN certificate like windows 7. Please refer to the following similar thread to change the Outlook Provider to have a try:

Set-OutlookProvider EXPR -CertPrincipalName:"msstd:mydomain.com"

Set-OutlookProvider EXCH -CertPrincipalName:"msstd:mydomain.com"

Personal opinion, maybe we can consider updating Windows XP machine to Windows 7 to resolve it. And it is better for your further using because Windows XP has ended support in April 8th, 2014.

 I am traveling today and will be back Thursday. I'll try it then.

I did both Set-OutlookProvider options. Still did not create Outlook profile. It says Connection to exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be on-line to complete.

Any thoughts?
