I cannot seem to turn off the print preview option in Outlook 2010.  Since my email which I send hundreds a day of all have attachments when trying to print preview each it create a long lag time,  each has its own tray requirements and when you switch to the different tray it again tries to print preview and again creates more lag time.  I am considering restoring 2007 because of the large amount of lag time is causing a back log of work to be completed creating overtime.  I have tried turning off the "live preview" option but this does not seem to help. Our company techs are also baffled as to why this option is not only cause such lag time but also does not seem to have an option to turn it off.

It seems you cannot disable print preview in Outlook 2010.

Does anyone know of any way to eliminate the lag time Outlook 2010 creates when creating this print preview when printing a document with attachments?  The attachment we are using do take a lot of memory and we have tried to use the best method that we know about to attach them but as we all know there can be ways we are not all aware of.

I too am really annoyed with this new 'feature.' What used to take a few minutes is now taking a half hour because every email I want to print has to load a 'preview' first (which I do not want or need).

Microsoft needs to give us a way to turn off the 'automatic print preview' FEATURE (I use the term loosely) in all of the Office apps. Simple enough to make this an 'option' and give us back two separate commands for "PRINT" and "PRINT PREVIEW."

This is a definite negative productivity hit!

I had the same problem. The Print Preview is really annoying but I eventually figured it out. Right mouse click on your Print button, select Customize the Ribbon. It then shows you the popular commands. You need to select "All Commands" on the tab down menu. Now scroll down to "quick Print" and add.

When i am printing an email now it will directly send it to my printer without the preview.

Thanks for the suggestion, I setup the quick-print button and it did skip the preview of the file and went right to printing however, it still took the same exact amount of time (90-seconds) for the message to start printing. The only difference is, it skipped the graphical preview of the message.

Is there any way to actually send it to the printer like the previous version of Outlook did without the HUGE wait times?

This seems to have worked in my scenario. I added the quick print to the ribbon to the main tab, as well as the Message tab. My initial test appears to have it printing faster.  I went from about 7 seconds down to 4 seconds.  I did not test extensively, just a couple of times.  I think the answer is worth trying out.
