Outlook 2011 for Mac & Exchange 2013 Public Folders

I've recently installed Outlook 2011 for Mac and am having great difficulty with the Exchange Server 2013 Public Folders that contain the organisation's shared contacts. There is no issue subscribing to the folders but when mounted they appear empty (there are two: the first contains 2107 (8000KB) entries and the second contains 461 (1800KB) entries). I created a test public folder from within Outlook 2011, which synchronised successfully with the Outlook 2010 for Windows clients in our office, up until the number of entries exceeded 6 (folder size 14KB) at which point any further entries added via the Windows clients failed to appear, although Outlook 2011 did report an increase in the folder's size. I read somewhere about EWS throttling in Exchange Server 2013 - could this be the cause or is it a known issue with Outlook 2011? If the latter, is there likely to be a fix soon?

I am encountering this problem too. Additionally, I am unable to have Outlook 2011 clients, with Exchange 2013 mailboxes, connect to Exchange 2010 public folders. This has been confirmed in a number of places, including Intermedia: http://hosting.intermedia.net/support/kb/default.asp?id=2408

With the release of Exchange 2013 RTM CU2 last week, there is still no timeline or fix for this. In my case, it is holding up the entire Exchange 2010 -> Exchange 2013 migration (as we have Outlook 2011 clients).
