I have a user in Europe using Outlook 2013 on Exchange 2007 who is receiving invitations also on his iPhone. When he Accepts the invitations on his iPhone, the original email goes into his deleted items and the invitation text is not shown. This is critical as quite often the invitations are WebEx meetings with dial in information! The examples I've seen are where the sender is based in our North America office where thye are also using Outlook 2013 but on Exchange 2013.

I've checked in with the user re outlook Settings to try and resolve the issue where accepted invitations are going to the trash (as only rejected / declined invitations should be moved to the bin) and am awaiting feedback on this. The user tends to accept meetings via iPhone in the main but I've not been able to confirm that this is only an iPhone issue. (Windows 7 SP 1 & iPhone 6).

Any ideas?

This is kinda by design. When you accepts a meeting, the content of the message is copied to your calendar and the original meeting request is deleted. If you want to prevent this, turn off the "Delete meeting requests and notifications from Inbox after responding" checkbox in Outlook options (File -> Options -> Mail).

Check if the option is on, and if so, disable it. Also check if the actual message content is being saved to the Calendar item, as it should be.

Yes, it is a by default settings to delete meeting requests after it is responded. As what Vasil says, we can change the following Outlook settings to leave the meeting request message in Inbox:

1. Click File > Options.

2. In Mail option, on Send messages part, uncheck Delete meeting requests and notifications from Inbox after responding option.

3. Click OK to save the settings.

Then check whether the issue persists.

I am having the same issue with users on our network.  They want the invitation information saved in the calendar appointment - not in their inbox as this means that they would have to go searching for the information when the appointment comes around.....  Are you saying that it is by design that the information pertinent to the appointment itself is not kept in the calendar in the appointment?
