Outlook 2013 URL showing Internal URL for accessing this account on the web.

Just upgraded to Exchange 2010 SP3 U1- have not yet decommissioned our Exchange 2003 server as a few users are still running off the old server.

When looking in Outlook 2010 to view what the URL is to access this account on the web, it shows the correct external URL as configured in the EMC.

In Outlook 2013, it shows the internal URL to access this account on the web, which is incorrect.  I have triple checked the OWA settings for internal and external URL and all look good.

Outlook 2013 is fully updated .

Hi,

The OWA url displayed in Outlook is from the externalurl of the OWA virtual directory. If the externalurl is null, then it will use the internalurl instead. Therefore, I suspect the externalurl on your OWA VD may be lost. We can try any one of the following steps to set them back:

1.assuming the FQDN of the your appropriate server is abc.contoso.local:

             Get-OwaVirtualDirectory -Server abc.contoso.local | Set-OwaVirtualDirectory -ExternalUrl https://mail.contoso.com/owa

2.just the actual server hostname:

            Get-OwaVirtualDirectory -Server abc | Set-OwaVirtualDirectory -ExternalUrl https://mail.contoso.com/owa

3.just go in the EMC under Server Configuration>Client Access and open the OWA Virtual Directory under appropriate server and edit there.

Thanks

The external URL is NOT null - it points correctly to the external domain name.

As I previously stated - Outlook 2010 shows the correct external URL whereas Outlook 2013 shows the internal URL.
