Outlook 2013 hangs loading profile

I have a Exchange Server 2010. One of my users that has Windows 7 and Outlook 2013 is getting hung up at "loading profile".

I have tried un-install/re-install Office, and went so far as to reload Win7 and then Office 2013 and get the same results. I've also tried logging on as a different user and get the same results, this after I had already tried as the original user.

I am thinking that I possibly have a corrupt exchange account. So I'm thinking about creating a new email account for this user or possibly a whole new user and email.

Does this sound reasonable, or is there something else I could try?

I can access the email account through OWA, that seems to work fine.

What if your user (with Win 7 & Outlook 2013) goes to a different PC?  Does it occur there as well or is the issue only with this one PC?  If the affected user can access the mailbox via OWA with no issues, then I'm inclined to think the mailbox is ok.  Do you have another DB on Exchange? If so, move their mailbox to a different DB and then try accessing it from Outlook again. You can also try the autodiscover test from their Outlook and review the results of the log.

Thanks for the replies, I have already wiped that computer (again) and this time set up a different user (myself) and all works good. I am reluctant yet to set up the user with the problem until I'm as confident as I can be that it's not going to cause this issue. So far, once that problem exists the only way to get rid of it is to wipe and reload the computer, not a lot of fun.

Hi,

From your description, I recommend you verify if there is any application or service that uses your data file (PST/OST), such as mail scanner app, anti-virus programs, lync or indexing service etc. Please go to task manager and kill the suspicious process and then restart Outlook 2013 to check the result.

Hope this can be helpful to you.

Best regards,

So it sounds like you've isolated the issue to the PC?  This is getting off topic, but are you using an image or is it a scratch install of Win 7 using media?  I would still have the user previously having this issue try using Outlook from another PC to see if the issue occurs again.

I ended up reloading win7 again, but this time I set up my own user information and email with no problem. I deleted the problem users email account from Exchange and created a new account for him, set him up on this computer and it's all good. :)
