Outlook 2013 may or may not sync calendar appointments with Outlook.com
Appointments added using the Outlook 2013 desktop client provided with Office 365 subscription, running on Win7, may or may not show up in Outlook.com. Some appointments sync and some don't, even after waiting over 24 hours. I haven't been able to find a pattern or trigger to differentiate the appointments that fail from the ones that don't. ALL appointments created with Outlook.com web app or from my Win8 phone sync everywhere, including the desktop. Only appointments created with Outlook 2013 desktop may or may not sync. Very frustrating, as the desktop is my primary interaction with Outlook. I have wasted too much of my life trying to sort this out.

Hi,

Do you often create lots of calendar appointments in a short time period?

As far as I know, sometimes when a lot of appointments are copied into the Outlook.com folders from Outlook 2013 client, some of them might not be sync'd with Outlook.com.

Please try to only create a few appointments at a time, then verify if issue persists. For those appointments failed to sync to Outlook.com, try to assign a category (this usually will trigger the sync again) and see if they can be sync'd again.

Thanks for your Reply Ethan. I never copy appointments into Outlook. The typical scenario is i receive a newsletter of events, i then manually type in appointments for the events i want to attend, typically eight to twelve entries covering a couple months ahead. Some of them will sync and some never will. Sometimes i'll just add one appointment which may or may not sync. Very frustrating that there is no way to troubleshoot why it doesn't sync. Or is there?

As far as I know, it's a known issue that appointments might not be sync'd to Outlook.com. As Ethan suggested, "try to assign a category (this usually will trigger the sync again) and see if they can be sync'd again."

I remember I used to read the info from another forum, Outlook team already be informed about this, and they are working on this. So, probably we can only wait for now.

Thanks for your reply. Changing categories hasn't helped any of my appointments to sync that weren't syncing before. Sooo frustrating! Sooo lame. I spent thirty years developing software to run on Microsoft platforms. I would be ashamed if i were part of this product team.
