Running Outlook 2013 32 bit on a Windows 7 Professional 64 bit installation. When trying to print an email (either from preview pane or opened message), the Print button for the default network printer is greyed out. The printer is online and available, nothing holding in the queue, and able to print to this printer when switching over to Word, Excel, or other non-Office program and trying to print from there.
Steps taken:
RemovedtheOutlprntfilefromC:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook\ . Tried to print, same problem.
Deleted the existing profile, and recreated. Same issue remains.
Changed default printer, button remains greyed out.
Tried in Safe Mode, same problem.
Ran an online repair of Office. Issue remains.
At times, the printer button goes normal and is not greyed out. But when trying to print then, it brings up the print info window, and then sits there, not printing, and eventually gives the error "Printer not ready" At this time, you can print to the same printer from other programs, both Office and non-Office.
This to me looks like a bug in Outlook 2013. Any ideas?
And given what I see on the site here, please do NOT mark this as answered, until an actual fix is established. I've noticed one Microsoft person will post something to try, and half a day or a full day later, another Microsoft employee marks that as the fix. I will respond and tell you when it is fixed.- Edited by CapnJTKirk Friday, October 11, 2013 7:42 PM
